Any computational system, algorithm, or software tool that generates, synthesises, modifies, or meaningfully contributes to creative output through machine learning, large language models, generative neural networks, or equivalent technologies.
Includes
- Text generation tools (e.g. large language models)
- Image synthesis tools (e.g. diffusion models)
- Audio or music generation tools
- Video generation tools
- Code generation tools used creatively
Does Not Include
- Traditional software operated entirely by human intent (e.g. Photoshop, DAWs, word processors)
- Spell-check or grammar tools that do not generate original content
- Search engines or reference databases
1.2 — Non-Human Animals
No non-human animal was directed, trained, or used as a creative instrument. This clause affirms human creative agency and is not a statement on animal capability.
1.3 — Extraterrestrial Beings
No entity of confirmed or purported extraterrestrial origin contributed to this work. Included in the spirit of intellectual completeness regarding creative authorship.
Section 2
Scope
2.1 Applies to the specific work to which it is attached only.
2.2 Covers primary creative content. Does not preclude AI use for administrative or logistical purposes unrelated to the creative work itself.
2.3 Does not apply retroactively to source material or reference works, provided such material has not been directly or substantively incorporated.
Section 3
Creator Responsibility
3.1 By affixing this declaration, the creator asserts to the best of their knowledge and in good faith that the work meets the above conditions.
3.2 The creator accepts full moral and professional responsibility for the authenticity of this claim.
3.3 This declaration is not a legally binding instrument unless incorporated into a formal contract. It functions as a statement of creative ethics and intent.
Section 4
Versioning
4.1 This constitutes Version 1.0 of the Authentic Human Creation declaration. Future versions may refine definitions as technology and creative practice evolve.
4.2 Works bearing the [•~°} 1.0 mark are governed by these terms, regardless of future updates, unless the creator explicitly re-declares under a newer version.
Section 5
Use of the Mark
5.1 The [•~°} mark and declaration are available for use by any human creator who sincerely affirms these terms.
5.2 Knowingly affixing this declaration to AI-assisted work is a breach of its spirit and intent, and may constitute misrepresentation to audiences and collaborators.
